Used to burn herbs, resin incense, etc. Burn time is approximately 30 to 35 minutes Charcoals could be burned on the ground but they really need to be burned in a charcoal burner. Charcoals get very HOT when they burn - about 320 degrees Fahrenheit on the surface. Cast iron burners are preferred. Be careful when using charcoals.
